Martina Barbon, Photographer in Venice

Martina says:

"I was born in Treviso, Italy, on the 5th of March 1984. I grew up between Treviso and my adored Venice, where I graduated in 2007. I began my professional experience as a photographer with music photography: time to shoot is always too short and the main challenge during concerts is always to capture the right moment.

I love details and I love to focus on people's expressiveness, in that precise moment they really don't expect to be portrayed. I like to describe my photography as a mix of flavors, competence and a pinch of craziness. I am an incurable romantic. Black and White is my favorite color: imagination is suddenly more free to roam and shadows are more defined and tidy. I do really love to meet new people, listen to music, eat ice cream and the Seventies. I live in a little town near Treviso. I work around the Veneto region, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy and of course where needed: my bag is always ready!"

Where are some of your favourite places to shoot in Venice?

I enjoy photographing international visitors all around Venice. The city offers many different kinds of spots and situations that can be incredible sceneries for photoshoots.

I do really love the “Ghetto” area. It is quiet and not too crowded. People will find there peace and some amazing places. I like to guide visitors along the “Zattere” up to “punta della dogana”. There you have the “Laguna” all around and Piazza San Marco as background. And of course "Piazza San Marco", what a wonderful setting this is!

Some words to best describe your style of photography?

Romantic, Emotional, Sometimes a bit crazy!
