Europe’s Best Destination Photographers
Come and meet some of our talented photographers across Europe.
Matteo was born in Torino, Italy. He graduated in Political Sciences, obtaining abroad an MA in Development Studies, which drove him to work in the Development Cooperation sector for almost a decade, at various levels across 4 continents.
His passion for photography kept growing together with the numerous experiences abroad, leading him to specialise particularly in documentary photography.
Wedding photography’ represents another key sector of his job; his creative skills, solid experience and personal style, together with the genuine passion for this photographic genre, making him prize storytelling of special moments. ("If you’re looking for something original and different, of course," says Matteo.)
Family photos, portraits and social reportage in general are amongst his other specialties, fields of professional activity and commercial work.
As a free-lance photographer he has been published in national and international magazines and journals, collaborating with photo agencies and NGOs.
Matteo has been awarded 2 prizes at the Humanity Photo Awards 2011 (Nomination Awards and Documentary Award) in China. The contest was organised by the UNESCO and the China Folklore Photographic Association (CFPA).
Matteo speaks English, Italian, Spanish, French and Russian.
Where are some of your favourite places to shoot in Santiago de Compostela?
Santiago de Compostela is just a wonderful city; in particular, the old town (zona vieja) represents a magic dimension, characterised by its narrow, pedestrian alleys, its monuments and churches, its charm and historical heritage, its hidden corners and secret gardens.
What are three words that best describe your style of photography?
Spontaneous, Original, Emotional.
