What do you love best about your city?
Dublin is perfectly located. It gives you everything you would possibly need from big, fast growing city. On one hand, you have beautiful architecture and all the details you would look for in big city. On the other hand it is literally surrounded by nature. For example I love taking photos in the Wicklow mountains area.
Why did you become a photographer?
When I came to Ireland, I got a job at an architectural practice as a photographer. I gained valuable experience in the areas of architectural photography, digital retouching, preparation of photomontages and restoration of old photographs.
Four years ago, I was drawn into wedding photography and immediately felt it is probably the most rewarding kind of photography I have done so far. Quite soon my work began to be recognised, and I became a member of the prestigious Wedding Photo Journalists Association, WPJA.
Photography has always been my passion, so I'm glad to be able to make it my profession too.
How would you describe your style of photography:
I specialise in documentary, reportage-style photography. Most of my work is dedicated towards wedding photography, but I have experience in beauty and fashion shoots as well. In regards to making my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera, I believe that they need to feel comfortable in front of me. To achieve that, I discuss with them all we want and need to do and then I try to minimize contact with them during the shoot. Usually after some time they forget that I'm even there.
