Teresa says:
"I am photographer, art educator and art conservator. I am multicultural, at home at Catalonia and Germany and speaking four languages: English, German, Spanish and Catalan. I love observing the world through my cameras, especially my analogical ones.
I think that explaining and determining things is one of our principal needs, but there are still two things we simply cannot force into a single definition: art and beauty. If you believe to know what art is and what it is not, if you believe being able to explain real beauty by using just a single word, you could not be further away from understanding the infinite meaning of these two ideas. Man himself is the mirror image of this infinity because it simply does not seem possible to describe him by using just one word. Only all his characteristics combined produce his uniqueness. That is why photographing human beings is so magical for me, every person show me a unique and own world."
Teresa speaks English, German, Spanish and Catalan. She has been published in Kwerfeldein.
Where are some of your favourite places to shoot in Barcelona?
Montjuïc (nature): For me the most harmonic combination is that of human and nature. In the zone of Montjuïc I find the silence and calmness to concentrate myself to the essential; the human being. The big pine-trees give us an internal calm we aren’t usually able to find in a city.
Barri Gotic (city): Barcelona isn’t imaginable without the Barri Gotic. It stands for a pulsatile city full of art, culture and history.
The old building of the University of Barcelona (building): Barcelona is famous for his buildings. The Gaudi-buildings are the most famous, but there are a lot more, like the old building of the university. It’s a calm and cooling place with indoor gardens. It is just a perfect place to escape from the hot and noisy city centre and take a break.
Three words to best describe your style of photography?
Human, natural, honest.
