Are “Selfies” an Endangered Species? Vacation Photographers on the Rise
The Premium Destination in Europe for Professional Vacation Photographers has launched!
With more than 1 billion people predicted to be travelling the world in 2014, demand for professional vacation photographers is growing. Cue the launch of TripShooter.com, a website specialising in professional vacation photography across Europe.
More than 1 billion people are predicted to be travelling the world in 2014 – a 5% growth from last year. And vacation photography – already known as “destination photography” in the wedding industry – is experiencing sharp growth too, with the launch of a new European-wide website, TripShooter (www.tripshooter.com), at the start of this year.
While individual photographers have offered vacation photography services on a mostly individual basis for the past few years, TripShooter represents the first time that so many professional photographers across Europe have grouped together to offer vacation photography services under a common brand.
“It’s an exciting time,” says Jade Riviére, co-founder of the website TripShooter. “We’re living in a time when we are saturated with beautiful images – in advertising, on websites – and people value those kind of visual memories highly. Particularly travellers – because they are traditionally the ones who love to have special photographs of their trip to share with family and friends.
“But travellers can’t take these amazing photos and be in the photo all at once. They can try with ‘selfies’, but they can be a bit unflattering. And sometimes they can also miss experiencing the moment when they’re looking at it from behind the lens or contorting to get in their own shot. That’s where we step in.”
“We’ve hand-picked amazing professional photographers from right across Europe,” says Ms Riviére. “And the results so far have been amazing. People love the experience of being photographed on vacation – it allows them to feel a bit special while travelling – and their photographers have great skills at making them feel comfortable. Most importantly, they’re bringing home photos that make them feel like they’ve really experienced the city. It’s an amazing and very unique souvenir.”
TripShooter currently offers vacation photography services in more than thirty European cities. Travellers to Europe can make bookings directly on the website www.tripshooter.com – 01.23.2014
